40 Days of Purpose at CPC
Ministry Fair

All Aboard!

O.K. maybe not yet, but the train is leaving soon at "Grand Central Station." What is this? Well, glad you asked...

As you may know, the 5th week of our 40 Days of Purpose has to do with "Ministry." Or, as Rick Warren put it in the simulcast-what is my service in the church, and to the church?

The 5th week-starting May 18th, of our 40 Days of Purpose, has us exploring how God has shaped us for ministry and service. To kick off that week we will be shortening the normal Sunday service times to about 35 minutes. After some music and a short message by Pastor George, we will all be heading out to a large tent set up right outside.

The purpose of the ministry fair is to give you the opportunity to survey the many exciting service-related teams at work both within our walls and beyond. Representatives from each ministry will be present to answer your questions and to share with you what the experience has meant to them as they serve alongside other Centralites. Besides our existing ministries, there will be a "dream team" table to explore ideas for known ministry needs for which teams are not yet in existence.

Did you know that there are more than 35 recognized ministries here at Central? Many of them need your help. But this ministry fair and the week that follows in the 40 Days of Purpose are about getting the right people in the right place at the right time. We don't just want available saints. We want available saints serving out of their spiritual gifts and areas of passion. Everyone has those so you can be confident that God has a place for you already!

It is important that you understand that any interest expressed at the ministry fair in serving on a ministry team is received as an opportunity to try, not a hard and fast, no turning back commitment. Discerning how God has shaped us and finding where He wants us is a process which requires the freedom to explore. In fact, the best way to explore one's spiritual design is to try out a ministry. If it doesn't seem to fit, try another. That's what Central is all about - helping one another along our journey in moving toward Christ.

Would you start thinking and praying now about where God might be leading you to serve others at Central? Your gifts, skills, experience and passions are needed. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and get on board.

Chugga, chugga, chugga, chugga...
