"Listen to advice
and accept instruction,
and in the end you will be wise.
Many are the plans in a man's heart,
but it is the Lord's purpose
that prevails."

Proverbs 19:20-22

The Building Committee continues to seek the Lord's will as we move forward on the building program. A key part of this process is the hiring of a Construction Manager.

The primary role of this position is to work with the architects, the general contractors, and the Building Committee to provide advice, manage costs and manage scope.

We received proposals from six companies and have been in the process of reviewing the proposals and following up on references. Interviews will begin this week and we hope to make a selection shortly thereafter.

Last week, the Building Committee reviewed the latest set of drawings and is quite excited about the progress to date. The drawings are moving into a detailed design phase and we hope to have something that is easily presentable in the near future.

Please pray for the following:

  • We are still awaiting approval from the County for the Stevenson Road parking lot.
  • That we will not find significant rock under the construction site that will add extra cost to the project.
  • Discernment and wisdom as we interview for a Construction Manager.
  • In January, the scope of the project was scaled back in order to be good stewards of the funds that were pledged. Please pray for discernment and wisdom as the leadership looks for ways to work some portions of the master plan back into this phase.
