Time & Talent Tithing

Published in the News & Views: September 3, 2006

We are often urged to tithe our income. Yet John and George have been urging us to do more ~ to give of ourselves. What if we really listened to them and tried tithing our time and our talents? What if we gave 10% of our time to the Lord in service? What if that's what God actually expects of us?

This is an invitation that will cost you time and use your talents. This is an invitation to join the Choir in singing God's praises, in helping to lead our Traditional Worship service. It will take time - time you might not want to give up. It will take up 2 hours every Thursday evening. It will mean that you need to get to church early on Sunday morning - by 9:15 am!! What if God gave you voices that can sing His praises and you chose not to use them for His service?

What if you did? The rewards will far outweigh any losses. You will be joining the longest-running small group at Central. You will be loved, encouraged, and fed. You will get to sing God's praises. You will have words of praise combined with glorious music that will get stuck in your brain and interrupt your concentration for weeks on end.

The Choir needs little voices, big voices, soprano, alto, tenor, and bass voices. We need people who can read music and those who cannot. We need willing hearts.

The Choir needs YOU. We have a you-sized gap in our ranks. Come Thursday, September 7th, at 7:30 pm and check us out. No commitment, just check us out.

What if ... God expects this of you?
