Share the Vision Building Campaign Our new building plans have been affected by the rapid rise of construction costs in recent months. Earlier this year, we estimated $6 million to complete our new building. Our current construction bids are between $7.2 and $8.0 million primarily due to construction material costs. We will sign "maximum guaranteed price" contracts with our construction contractors to ensure that the materials costs are frozen. However, we must do this very soon.

As a congregation, we have some tough decisions to make. Alternatives include:

  • Continue with the entire building project ($8.0M),
  • Reduce the scope of the building project ($7.2M), or
  • Cancel the building project and re-deploy funds elsewhere.

After extensive prayer and seeking out the Lord's direction on this issue, the Session believes that the Lord is leading us to the second option; however, during recent meetings with the College of Elders and the Leadership Community, the first option has been indicated as the preferred choice.

In order to continue the listening process being conducted by the Session, you are invited to attend a Congregational Information meeting on Tuesday evening, November 14th, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to provide you with vision, building, and financial information; answer your questions; and listen to your thoughts and hearts. The Session encourages you to attend this meeting to prepare for the Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 19th, at 1:00 pm where a vote will be taken on moving forward with the building project. Please pray about this important decision as it is crucial that Central be unified on this decision.

Meeting Childcare

Childcare will be provided for infants through kindergarteners. Two-year olds through kindergarteners will be provided a lunch of pizza and apple juice. Parents will need to provide food for their infants and toddlers. Please contact Amy Davidson (410-823-6145, ext. 228 or adavidson@centralpc.org) to register your children for childcare. Your help in this area is critical so there are enough childcare providers. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
