This year with the coming of summer, there will be a lot of exciting construction activity going on within and around the building. As usual, this will involve some inconveniences. First, I want to thank the entire congregation, Preschool, visitors, staff, and everyone else who has been inconvenienced by the construction process to date. You have been very understanding and cooperative during this time of change.

This summer's activities will be heavily focused on the renovations to the front of the existing building and the completion of the new addition in the former courtyard. The plan is to open the new Multipurpose Room on the upper level and the Children's Worship Area on the lower level this fall. All other renovations to bathrooms, classrooms, the Kitchenette, the Chapel and the Parlor will occur at the same time.

In order for the construction to be completed by the fall, the work must begin on the day after Memorial Day. This means that there will be construction walls on both the upper and lower levels near the Kitchenette and Children's Welcome Center respectively. The back hallways will also be closed. These walls will block off our path to the south parking lot and the south temporary entrance. Also, the Loft will only be accessible from the York Road front door. Please see the floor plans below.

The closing of these areas will cause some adjustments for the summer. The Children's Ministry will be temporarily using Calvin A and B to house children's classes; the Children's Library will be closed; various items will be stored in the hallways, etc. We are working with our contractors and staff to anticipate and work through as many ways to minimize disruption as much as possible. A special thanks goes to Children's Ministry who has creatively planned around the disruption to their space this summer.

In the back of the building, the construction of the new Worship Center and the new Infant and Toddler area will proceed with the raising of steel, the construction of walls, floors, and the roof this summer.

Thank you again for your gracious understanding during these times of change.
