Leadership Column: Who Are the Trustees?Published in the News & Views: August 12, 2007There are six Trustees elected by the congregation that are Central’s corporate officers who are assigned the authority to manage the physical assets of Central Presbyterian Church. Three of the Trustees, Les Bley, Bruce Stuart and Bob Summers are responsible for overseeing the management of Central’s building and grounds. The Trustees work closely with Jim McClure, Central’s Director of Ministry Support and Brad Horn, Facilities Manager, to ensure that our buildings and grounds are improved and maintained in a manner that fully supports the many ministries and community groups that depend on our facilities. Right now, the big challenge is to keep things running as smoothly as possible during construction. We are also working to implement our plans for fitting out the new and remodeled parts of the building with equipment and furniture so that the transition to our new facilities can be as seamless as possible. At the same time, we’re working to improve and maintain the parts of the building that are not affected by the construction; one recent example is the new carpet in the Sanctuary. With respect to our grounds, new plantings around the south parking lot need to be maintained and plans are being developed for landscaping the front of the building and the newly graded field back beyond the garage. The Trustees’ Building and Grounds Committee meets monthly on every third Monday at 7:30 pm. Central’s members and friends who have an interest in helping, particularly those interested in helping to beautify and maintain our grounds, are encouraged to join us. Please don’t hesitate to contact Bob Summers, any of the other Trustees or Jim McClure or Brad Horn in the Church Office if you are interested in learning more. | ||||
