Missions In Motion: Networking with Our Partners ~ At Home & Overseas

Going out to serve The Missions Team

Central networks with a number of organizations in Maryland, and around the world, to bring aid and comfort to those in need. Partnering together, we reach out to many more of the needy than we could as individuals or as a single organization. All efforts of this network are complimented by our prayers, encouragement, and personal support.

One recent example involves our adopted people group. Several different missions we support are working in different ways to meet the needs of our adopted people. One group is working on the printed Word in local languages, a second is making audio recordings in local languages, another is providing care for children, and yet another is training leaders. The Lord has led individuals from these four organizations to network and join hands in bringing help to the local people and increasing their effectiveness and that of Central.

The ongoing involvement and interaction of individuals and small groups are much more important than financial support to our partners and to Central. Direct connections give first-hand information that fosters prayer, concern, and energy in everyone. Do you ever take comfort in the fact that the Lord has people all around the world praying for our congregation? The networks support us too.

In our own part of the world, the Baltimore area, we also network with a number of organizations and congregations. A major focus of this work is children, in particular, those of poorer, urban communities. Our partner organizations and our members who work alongside them reach out to the unborn, very young, and school-age children. We all seek to assist with clothing, housing, food, education, and health of the whole person. You might be amazed at how many young people in our area are touched for the Lord through the small day-by-day actions of those involved. Daily there are many, many examples of the caring love of God that Pastor George discussed in his sermon last week (Matt. 25:35ff). We are each blessed as we seek to be a blessing to others in need.

Take some time in prayer to consider how the Lord wants you to network with His people. In October you will have opportunities to connect yourself with the Lord's people in local and Asian settings during a missions emphasis week from the 14th to the 21st. Be prepared to learn and labor. This can be a life changing time in our lives at Central!
