Central Presbyterian Church is going to celebrate on April 20th by opening the doors to the new Worship Center. We will dedicate the new building and dedicate ourselves to all the opportunities that lay before us within Christ's Kingdom.

On April 20th, the Day of Dedication, there will be two blended services, one at 9:00 am and the other at 11:00 am, with a Cornerstone Ceremony at 10:30 am. The day is structured to be family-oriented. Families are encouraged to come to Central together, to worship together, and fellowship together.

All Sunday School classes (2nd grade through adult) have been cancelled for the 20th. Childcare is available for infants and toddlers during both worship services, and Pre-K through 1st grade will be released during the service. Children 2nd grade and up will remain in the worship service with their families. After each service (and after parents have picked up their children from childcare), everyone is invited to fellowship in the Courtyard where light refreshments will be served.

The Cornerstone Ceremony will be a brief acknowledgement of all those who worked to erect the building and bring it online, as well as note all the ministry yet to be done within and outside its walls. After some other notes and acknowledgements, the cornerstone will be ceremoniously laid along with a time capsule that will hold various artifacts surrounding this day.

We have all anxiously awaited this Day of Dedication with a mix of excitement and uncertainty. Much planning has gone into getting us to this point, but no one knows what all awaits us in the days following – just as no one knew what awaited us after we opened the Courtyard and Children’s Big Space. But, after seeing the amount of ministry and outreach, freedom and flexibility those spaces offered, we know this means there will be even more opportunities for folks to serve and get involved in a ministry at Central.

The Building Project is almost complete. The construction is finished, the audio/visual system is in place, the furniture is on its way, and the kinks are steadily getting worked out. But, where are you in relation to all of this? This year’s theme verse comes from Luke 12: "Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return . . ." Are you prayerfully considering how the Lord may want to use your gifts and talents in the midst of what is happening at Central Presbyterian Church? These may include ministries throughout Towson or Baltimore City, or across the states or overseas. Be mindful of how God has used you to minister to others in the past, and what He may be calling you to now. These are exciting times, and the church will likely experience some growing pains. But, as we grow and develop in the Body of Christ, we can only expect God to do amazing things through us. Praise be to God for all that He has done and will accomplish!
