AiM becomes EM (Equipping Ministries)

By now, most of you have heard of AiM Ministries and the Spiritual Design course that we coordinate.

This course is based on the biblical understanding that:

• Christ has uniquely equipped each of us for ministry to others
• Serving others is an irreplaceable ingredient in our spiritual growth.

The course supports Centralites in exploring how God is calling them to serve, inside or outside of Central.

In the year and a half since AiM Ministries began, we have come to realize that this "equipping ministry" is more extensive than discovering people's spiritual design and sending people out to do ministry. We have grown in our understanding of how God wants to continue to mature our body here at Central. He wants us to become a community of believers who every day are more aware of God's plan for their lives. He desires his church to meet the needs of His sheep in every way. He desires us to walk closer to Him each day. He desires us to live out Ephesians 4 as a body.

To better communicate the ministry He has entrusted to us, we are changing our team's name from AiM to Equipping Ministry (EM). This name better encompasses the scope of our ministry and actually draws on the part of our mission statement we are particularly targeting: "Moving People Toward Christ, by being a community of faith which loves, encourages, and EQUIPS them in Christ, sending them out to serve."

This summer our team is using a hiatus from leading the Exploring Your Spiritual Design Course to focus on expanding our ministry to associated ways of helping our members connect in faith-enriching community and ministry. We are meeting bimonthly this summer to continue growing our vision and community as a team.
