Mark your calendar for Wednesday, January 29th, 7:00 - 9:00 pm for the next Care Teams Workshop sponsored by the Diaconate of CPC. Whether 19 or 90, there will come a time in all our lives when we either need care or will need to give care. Learn through this brief 2-hour workshop some key principles and practical resources for both situations and how the "care is shared" at Central.

You can be better prepared for the unexpected and accidental situations that happen to all of us. (The Care Team Workshops are a natural follow-up to the Spiritual Design Classes.)

Some of the overlapping areas of Deacons' ministries in need of your gifts and help:

  • serving communion in homes
  • visiting our friends in the hospital
  • flower ministry
  • Sunday morning coffee table
  • funeral luncheons
  • resource manual development
  • transportation
  • care team service
  • meal preparations
  • budget counseling, and more

Many of the above areas of service are one-time or temporary in nature and others are of a longer "project" kind. For example, the resource manual development requires one or more individuals who enjoy phoning various community services to check out their appropriateness as a Central Church resource.

We will be listing as many free/discounted "in-house" services as we can find such as babysitters, home repairs, auto repairs, in-home hair care, addiction counseling, home health aides, light housekeeping services, daycare for children and/or elderly, special diets preparation, medical equipment, etc.

If you have a service or know of a service you think would be appropriate for the Deacons' Manual, please stop by the Deacons' Desk in the Concourse or contact one of the current deacons.

The Diaconate looks forward to working with more of you in any of the above ministries. We hope to see you at the Care Team Workshop.
