Explorers' Camp is Over for One More Year!Published in the News & Views: July 18, 2004God's LITTLEST All-Star ChampionsBeginning with awesome worship in The Loft, learning that they are a House of Prayer, to eating yummy snacks, playing wild games, and hearing adventurous Bible stories, 110 preschoolers learned what it means to be an all-star champion for God this week. Over 60 of the kids came to camp with a friend or through another connection to Central. It was amazing to watch God at work in the hearts of the moms and dads who dropped their children off and to watch the children learn a little more about the awesome God we serve. I would like to thank the 60+ volunteers who spent the week with us. You gave of your precious time and your amazing talents to make the preschool camp truly great. As I listened to visitors telling me they came to camp, because a friend of a friend told them it was a great place to be, I was filled with gratitude for all our past and present volunteers who have over the years given our camps a great reputation in our community. THANK YOU! The Next Level RecapThirty-six 4th and 5th graders spent the week learning about the Full Armor of God in both large and small group teaching. We heard testimonies from God's Champions: Corey and Brynna S., McKenna B., Amy Bilezikian, Becca Z., Dan Boyle and Rebecca D.. Each day we traveled to a different location in Baltimore where we witnessed God's presence.
It was an awesome week! Backyard Camp ReviewIn the backyard of Julie Schuetz, 10 children loved playing the water games with Jennifer Pearson and getting wet in the rain on Monday. Becky Garvey's backyard was host to 23 children. It was a very busy and active place to be! Sue Hula's backyard hosted 21 children. They, too, loved getting wet with the water games and rain. Amy Lang's backyard was host to 18 children who loved jumping on the trampoline. Over 50% of these children were not from Central. Pray that relationships were built with their friends and neighbors. Who's ready for next year?
