Much for Which to Be Thankful

Share the Vision Capital Campaign Thanksgiving is only a few days away, and as we gather together today for the "Share the Vision" Special Event we have so much for which to be thankful. First and foremost for our unity - we are a congregation unified by our faith in God through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit has kept us focused on the essentials of our faith and on our mission of Moving People Toward Christ. God's love binds us to Him and to each other.

We have much more for which to be thankful ~ we own a rich spiritual heritage that includes 55 years of ministry in Towson. In that time, the lives of thousands of people have been impacted. Many have heard the Gospel preached and many have been saved. Central has supported missions locally and internationally, sending hundreds of missionaries to all parts of the world. Their work includes campus ministry, church planting, Bible translation, orphanages, medical missions, housing for the poor, prison ministry, discipleship training, literacy work and so much more.

We have also been blessed with many resources. We have great facilities where vital ministry takes place. God has blessed us with the financial means to keep ministry funded. More importantly, there are the people of Central who have the talents, gifts and abilities to make ministry possible, including: Adult Christian Education, Central Lights, Men of Promise, Women on Wednesday, Young Adults, College Age, Whirlwind & Storm, Children's Ministry, Small Groups, Prayer Ministry, Alpha, Worship Teams, The Choir, CPC Preschool, Sundays@Central, Habitat for Humanity, Presbyterians Pro Life, Presbyterian Women, Deacons, Paraclete Lay-Care, and many more.

We have a legacy of leadership that is dedicated to putting Jesus Christ first and leading by example. God has answered our prayers and faithfully provided pastors and staff that invest their lives into the ministry of Central.

Now we are poised on the edge of our next great expansion in ministry and with it we have a great responsibility. We have the opportunity to be a part of God's plan and purpose, and we can participate in it with our time, talent and treasures. That great responsibility is also a great gift from Him, one for which we can truly be thankful.
