Share the Vision
Share the Vision - the name says it all. Our church stands at the
threshold of new challenges. God is calling us, in faith, to new perspectives
of ministry. Sharing the vision is all about faith in God faith that God
calls us, faith that God will lead us, faith that allows God to work miracles
in us and through us.
What are We Building
The key components of the new building are as follows:
- Worship \ conference \ banquet space which will seat over 600 for
worship or
400 for banquets,
supported by a fully equipped kitchen
- New infant and toddler rooms and welcome center for parents
- New children's worship space
- New adult meeting space seating up to 150, supported by an expanded
kitchenette directly across the hall.
- 60 new parking spaces
Construction has begun. Find updates and important information
about safety and facility use here.
Why are We Building
While the building committee continues to work on the physical plans,
the pastors, program staff, ministry leaders, and elders continue to work
on the ministry plans for the new building. We have spent a great deal of
time this year seeking out how these new facilities can further the Kingdom
of God and make us more effective at reaching out beyond our walls?
We believe that God will use this space by:
- Increasing Capacity - Whether thru watching visitors
turn away from a crowded service, or our facilities not adequately supporting
some new avenue of ministry, we sense that God is calling us to build for those
we have not yet met, to invite a greater number of people from our neighborhood
community into our community of faith, to use the life within our walls to strengthen their life outside these walls.
- Increasing Visibility - New spaces will provide new
opportunities to share our space with groups within the community, ministries
within the community, as well as increased support for Central's existing
ministries. Those opportunities will allow us to engage the local community
in new ways and increase our visibility within the community.
- Increasing Ministry - As we intentionally increase our
capacity for ministry and increase our visibility within the community, we
will be called to respond to a greater scope of needs within our community.
As we seek to love God with all our heart, mind, and strength, and our
neighbors as ourselves, we will be drawn into meeting the practical and
spiritual needs of those around us.
How?
There are two big questions that we as the body of believers at Central must answer:
- How will we specifically use our facilities to increase our ministry beyond
our walls? This is a question that is answered as we, together, seek God's
will and movement in our midst. It is answered as God stirs our passions and
imaginations as we seek to serve the neighborhoods around Central. Throughout
the Spring, we will be providing congregational-wide opportunities to discuss
what we feel God is calling us into as move forward.
- How will the project be financed? First and foremost, the project has
been generously supported by your faithful gifts. To date, close to
$2,000,000 has been given to the campaign. The Trustees are working out the
details on a plan that will allow us to build everything in one phase and not
hinder support for daily ministry or overseas missions. More details will be
forthcoming as the plans are finalized.
