Contemporary Music Ministries

Moving people toward Christ by helping people to connect with God through worship - this is how the music ministry lives out its mission.

We were privileged to help lead worship at the All-Church Retreat in May, as well as having the opportunity once again to be part of Emory Grove's Sunday evening worship service series in July. Team members also offered their time and talents to enrich worship at a variety of special services.

The Worship Team expanded greatly as we added the EPIC worship team. God has graciously added members to both teams, but we are still in a period of growth, in need of more vocalists and instrumentalists.

The Youth Band has made great strides in musical skill and leadership and are leading worship for the The Storm as well as Start of the Storm ministries.

Our Children's Choir program is being suspended for the foreseeable future. We have lacked a 3P individual ("a point person with a passion".) Even though we have tried to recruit someone and have offered a stipend no one has come forward. This decision was also made in the light of our overall mission statement of MOVING PEOPLE TOWARD CHRIST. Since we have a strong Children's and Youth program in place here at Central we felt that the mission was being accomplished in other significant ways.

The ways that we, as fallible human beings, choose to connect to God may change and differ, but God is eternal and unchanging. All He asks of us is to worship Him in spirit and in truth. What a joy to know that we can worship him freely through Jesus Christ!
