Worship Coordination Team | Equipping Ministries

Worship Coordination Team

The Mission of the Worship Coordination Team (WCT), formerly the Worship Committee, is to advance the vision for worship at Central through prayerful, creative and informed reflection and planning by developing, enabling and shepherding ministry teams for all aspects of worship and music.

Central is a community of faith and worship is a top priority. In order to better serve the congregation, we have diverse worship offerings and great music. Three talented planning teams design the Sunday morning services for 8:15, 10:00 and 11:30. The additions of PowerPoint, the Drama Team, Epic Dance Troupe, and the new Handbell Choir, have brought enhancements to our different styles of worship. Additional services such as Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve have allowed "new" teams in relationship with WCT to use their creative energies to expand the vision for worship as well.

We continue to work with the ushers; assist in the maintenance of the sanctuary sound system; and supervise the radio tape ministry. A new outreach endeavor, "Sundays at Central" Concert Series launched last year and became an instant success. We continue to pray that this open door to the community will be fruitful in moving people toward Christ.

Equipping Ministries

One of the primary goals of EM is to encourage and support the unleashing of people to minister in ways consistent with how God designed them. In answering God's personal call to ministry, we work out our faith and find fulfillment in church membership whether inside or outside the church walls. To reflect the breadth and scope of this ministry, formerly called "AiM" (which stood for assimilation and mobilization) we adopted the new name of Equipping Ministry.

The centerpiece and most visible part of EM remains the ongoing Spiritual Design Course. This year we added a core ministry team and began working on an infrastructure necessary to develop the church's equipping culture. EM's leaders attended a week-long intensive training course and came away with a fuller concept of the "equipping" process.

On a practical level, EM has led the charge for re-vamping Central's computer database, enabling a much more efficient tracking system for ministry opportunities and members' giftedness, experience and areas of interest. EM also provided personnel to co-facilitate the New Members' Classes. EM continues to work toward the vision that EVERY member of Central finds their ministry call, and that as a community, we provide the nurturing to do so. In summary, EM exists to build bridges such that every person in our church body is connected and "they and their church" becomes "our church, my part in the body of Christ."
