CPC 2003 Annual Report:
It's All About Legacies...
The Lord's, Central's and Yours
Scripture is one of God's greatest gifts or legacy to us. Proverbs
13:22 tells us "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's
children... "
Today's Central was started with the bold vision of one man in a
dying church. Judge Rose's desire for a growing church in the suburbs is
today's Central. He left money to the Presbytery to plant a new church.
We are his legacy to his children's children and others. We seek to be
even bolder in fulfilling our mission, Moving people toward Christ by
being a community of faith which loves, encourages, and equips them in
Christ, sending them out to serve - our children's children and others
in our city, nation, and the whole world.
In reaching out beyond our walls, we seek to fulfill the great
commission without the limits of walls. Heroes from the Old Testament,
like Solomon, and the New Testament, believers at the time of the
ingathering, gave beyond the limits of their income to honor and serve
Him to the fullest.
Seeking to serve Him similarly, the Legacy Funds of Central
Presbyterian Church were created this year to provide:
- Members and others the opportunity to witness their faith to future
generations through gifts and bequests.
- Funding for new or expanded ministry or staffing that exceeds the
capability of Central's Unified Budget.
