CPC 2004 Annual Report:
Student Ministries
Bill Pitts, Jr.
We will provide a place for students to BELONG;
teach them what we BELIEVE;
and see them BECOME Christ-followers.
Can an atheist find a place to belong
where students are worshipping
God? Can a disillusioned teen find something to believe in after years
of being abused? Can students really become the hands and feet of Christ
or are they too young to lead? While you're deciding - we're going to
keep displaying God's power in the Whirlwind and
the Storm...
(Nahum 1:3 NLT).
- 80 high school students - seekers and followers alike - check out
'the Storm' each month.
- 75 middle school students each month think Whirlwind is THE place
to be on Friday nights.
- 85% of our students are involved in accountability and Bible study in our
Satellite Station small groups.
- A dozen Towson High School students meet at 6:30 every Thursday
morning to journal together.
- We're seeing students from 6th through 12th grade doing homework and
hanging out on Wednesday afternoons in our Cafe Tempest.
- A team of 22 served for 2 weeks in Romania this summer.
A team of 65 served in Tennessee this summer.
- 14 student small groups served in nursing homes, soup kitchens,
handed out blankets and food to the homeless, worked at camps, and
raised money for hungry and abused children around the world.
- 14 high school students served as leaders for our middle school program.
- Over 30 volunteers serve in our ministry.
- Our staff has grown to include a Director of Student Discipleship and 2 year-round interns.
