CPC 2005 Annual Report:

Session Report

Al Finch, Clerk of Session

Last year, I talked about the unity in the Session's leadership in gifts of prayer, patience, involvement, concern, discernment, wisdom and many others. This continues in an excellent direction as the Session has had a very active 2005. Your Session remains biblically focused on setting the direction of the mission God has given this congregation to move our ministries "beyond the walls" of our physical plant into the city, state, nation and world.

2005 Staff changes have taken some of Session's time.

George Antonakos - Associate Pastor, Anne Neilson - Director of Children's Ministries, Jim McClure - Director of Ministry Support, Matt Acton - Director of Student Ministries, are all part of the plans the Session has been working on for several years. Our Office Manager, Janice Chubski, leaving for a new field of ministry is a loss for our congregation but a gain for God's ministry and we wish her God speed.

The Session continues working on a "Church without Walls" tactical implementation plan for all ministries for our growing congregation. Moving more people to become more like Christ in our local communities, nation and world is an awesome assignment from God. Based on the prayers and participation by the congregation, the Session plans to ensure that this mission is always the focus in what is accomplished.

2006 brings many challenges to Session in the area of ministry focus, financial management, new building construction and bringing more members into active participation in the various ministries. Your Session solicits your prayers and comments as we move forward. The Session is working to do their best to follow Paul's instructions to Elders in Acts 20:28, "Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers."

Welcome to 2006 and another exciting year as God continues to reveal His plan for Central Presbyterian Church.
