CPC 1997 Annual Report:
From the Senior Pastor
Dr. Ronald W. Scates

Recently I heard of a church that did a self-study and determined that the world would really be no different if that congregation did not exist. If they were to vanish, they would not be missed. How sad. What's even sadder - they are not an isolated case.

How grateful I am to be a pastor in a church like Central where we can look back over the past year and see the many and marvelous ways that the Lord has worked in and through this congregation to make a real difference in the lives of people, to advance the Kingdom, and to impact the world. A glance through this annual report will reveal that Central is made up of a lot of folks who are doers as well as hearers of the Word.

It all begins with weekly corporate, Christ-centered worship which has an explosive centrifugal force that propels us into AIDS wards, prisons, conversations with un-churched neighbors, the jungles of SE Asia, hospitals, numerous global mission fields, and the renewal of the Presbyterian Church USA.

Look this booklet over and then ask the questions, "If Central didn't exist, would it make any difference?"

Centrifugally yours in Christ,
Ron Scates
