by the grown-ups of CentralHow are you grateful to God for Central? What do you remember? I am grateful for Central's strong focus on the lordship of Jesus Christ, for the leadership' firm stance on who Christ is, and for the open arms of this congregation. -Barbara Hiebert I am grateful to God for Central because of the wonderful people, the inspired sermons, and the emphasis on evangelism. It is all very motivating. -Michael Frantz I have been at Central 2 years now. The thing I am most grateful for is that I have not been pressured to become a member and that I have been allowed to be a part. -Tim Herty I'm thankful that I'm never left comfortable in my faith, but continually challenged to repent, speak out and "move others toward Christ." -Heidi Bertaux Ron convicted me of the sovereignty of God and I am eternally grateful. -Linda Zeigler Murray Smoot's faithful preaching of the Word and Ron Scate's continuation of the tradition. -David Hungerford The ongoing miracle of lives being drawn to Jesus Christ and therefore being transformed. -Barbara Hiebert I remember listening to the service on the radio, when the signal briefly cut out. When he came back, Dr. Scates said the power had gone out briefly, and he thought, "Another squirrel enters the Kingdom of Heaven." I thought this was very funny. -Michael Frantz Spring 1972 - Murray's evangelistic sermon. My reaction - "I'll never come here again." Spring 1973 - Same sermon. My reaction - "I think that's the first sermon I ever really heard." Praise God! -David Hungerford I remember the atmosphere to work together to serve the Lord as a team committed to helping others understand that Christ loves them. -Karen Duncan Oh, the big blue bus! Who could forget its ministry to international students, youth Sunday School, the Senior citizens. -Karen Duncan Great Mother and Daughter Banquets and Christmas Parties - (So many of us would gather, prepare food and have "chats.") Sunday Eve. Services (wouldn't miss) Grateful for our daughter's interest in Bible, etc. (Judi). Thanks to Jean and Bruce Stuart; etc. -Bea & Pat Alexander The monthly men's prayer breakfast. There is no such group in my home church. -Tim Herty |
