Child's 1st Visit

CHILD's 1ST VISIT / WELCOME CENTER

First Visit

We would be delighted to have your child as part of our Children’s Ministry. We hope your child’s visit will be pleasant and that you will be able to attend worship and an Adult Christian Education class, knowing that your child is not only being well cared for, but having an enriching experience.

SAFETY:

Safety and comfort are our utmost concerns in Children’s Ministry at Central. We understand that you won’t feel comfortable unless you feel comfortable with your child’s situation. To that end, we’ve developed some simple but important procedures for children left in our care.

REGISTRATION:

The first time you visit we’ll ask you to register your child. This is a simple but important procedure that only takes a few minutes. Filling out the registration card gives our staff the information they need to place your child in the appropriate age-level class. It also provides our volunteers with important information on allergies, since many of our programs include snacks. And, although we all hope we’ll never have to use it, it’s important for us to get emergency contact information as well. At this time we also request you tell us who should NOT pick up your child, if this applies to you.

CLASSES:

Once your child is registered their name will be added to the appropriate class roster, and they’ll be given a nametag. This helps the staff and volunteers in identifying them and everyone in welcoming them. Then, we ask you to say your “good-byes” at the classroom door, to reduce disruptions to the classes. Don’t worry, if your child has any trouble settling in, we’ll come and find you. Parents with children birth through age 3 get pagers to take with them. Pagers are available to parents of older children at the parents’ request.

SPECIAL NEEDS:

We do our best to accommodate everyone. If your family has any special needs or concerns, please let our staff know. It’s also helpful to make a note on the attendance roster/sign-in sheet. For any other concerns we invite you to visit with the Director of Children’s Ministry, so we can plan to appropriately minister to your child.

PICK-UP:

After worship or your Adult Ed. class has finished, please come to your child’s classroom to pick them up. We ask that you sign them out on the Attendance Roster, so we know that they were picked up by the right person.
