  Focus on the Family is a well-known organization founded by Dr. James Dobson. It is commonly known for it's radio ministries and it's publications. Dr. Dobson's method attempts to "turn hearts toward home" by reasonable, biblical and empirical insights so people will be able to discover the founder of homes and the creator of families-Jesus Christ. This site is excellent for practical parenting advice and information.

  "GenesisJobs, Inc., is a non-profit partnership of 500 companies, 80 faith communities, and volunteers providing compassionate support to unemployed adults in their search for entry-level, non-professional jobs in metropolitan Baltimore."   The Helping Up Mission has served the spiritual, psychological, and physical needs of the homeless in Baltimore since 1885. Central is involved with this rescue mission through individuals and our Social Action Ministries.

  Habitat is a Christian ministry which is committed to providing quality affordable housing to low-income families. Habitat does this by building or renovating homes together with families in need. HFH homes are sold with no profit made. Homeowners contribute "Sweat equity" and house payments are recycled to build additional houses.   Urbana is a mission-oriented convention hosted by InterVarsity at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, targeting university students from the United States and Canada. Past conventions were held in both countries, and were wildly successful in attracting students' attention to the joy of mission work.

  An international hunger and poverty relief organization of "Churches helping Churches help the hurting." "...an energetic assembly of evangelicals anxious to provide "food for the body and food for the soul" all over the globe." They focus on the 3 areas of emergency relief, refugee care and long-term help, striving to address the physical and spiritual needs of those they serve, while teaching people how to become self-reliant.

  World Vision is one of the best-known and most effective organizations for helping the poor and oppressed world-wide. Many people know them for their child sponsorship programs.
