Diaconate: A Ministry of Compassion

The Diaconate performs many caring services for people in the community and in the church.

Who are the Deacons ?

The Board of Deacons, elected by the congregation and ordained by the elders, is commissioned to extend a personal touch of care to Central's members. The goal of the Diaconate is to offer service in confidence through understanding and compassion.

The diaconate is composed of about 15 members, each serving a three year term.

The Deacons seek to connect members with appropriate spiritual gifts to members with needs. Some may feel called to visit, some to pray, some to drive, some to cook, etc. We are all different parts of Christ's body, the church. If you sense God's call in this way, come visit us at the Deacon's Desk in the Concourse between services. Whatever God has blessed you with, we'll find the need in our congregation that requires your particular gift.
