Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen Needs
Help the ODB Soup Kitchen
during the summer months by:
- Volunteering
Our Daily Bread is open 365 days a year. The lunch commitment is from
9:00am to 1:00 pm daily. The minimum age limit is 15. 13 and
14-year-olds may come with an adult. Why not share a part of yourself
with someone in need ? Talk about this service opportunity in your
family, workplace, neighborhood. Call Michelle to be scheduled at
410-659-4012. Every day we need 30 volunteers to continue this daily miracle.
- Making casseroles
It takes 120 casseroles every day to serve lunch. Making one casserole a
month is not burdensome and makes a great family project. If you go away
on vacation, freeze the casserole and arrange to have someone deliver it
to us. Call Sr. Paula for more information 410-659-4012.
- Pick-up and delivery
Drivers are needed for pick-up and delivery of donations. Places such as
Dunkin Donuts and Fresh Fields throw away their pastries and breads at the
end of each day. They are willing to donate them to non-profits. Because
our list of available drivers is small, we lose donations that are offered.
Could you be a driver with available transportation? Or perhaps you know
someone who could. Call Sr. Paula if you can help. 410-659-4012.
- Good Samaritan Food Drives
As the school year comes to a close, we need other groups to continue
collecting durable goods for us. This year 17 different schools devoted a
month of their school year to collecting durable goods for us. During the
summer months especially, we need youth groups and businesses to continue
with the work of the Good Samaritan Food Drives which enable us to assist
poor families at the beginning of each month with bags of groceries. Call
for our Wish List. 410-659-4012 or 5015 or 4016.
Note that while CPC partners with ODB, this is not an official ODB web page.
It merely offers some a copy of useful information about their needs.
