Our week in Tunica, Mississippi was an incredible one, filled with
opportunities to minister in both word and deed to the people of Tunica
County. This week was also one in which we were spiritually blessed and
challenged to a deeper walk with Christ. These photos will give you an
idea of some of the ministry in which we participated during the week.
This is the license plate on Pastor Rodney's truck. It
pretty much sums up what we went down there to do and be.
This is a shot of the group at the church the morning that we
left. Little did we know that Katie forgot to put her luggage on the
bus!
This is one of the many signs around tunica which remind
you that this small town in rural Mississippi has become the third
largest gambling center in the United States.
During the mornings we worked at the home of an older
diabetic man who was in a wheelchair. We did yard clean up...
...and painting
...and more painting
But we also had the chance to build relationships and share
the Gospel with a few of the curious kids from the neighborhood.
Teri had the chance to share Christ with this boy, Larry,
and he prayed to receive forgiveness and salvation from the Lord.
One afternoon we had the opportunity to share the Lord
through "sports evangelism" - basketball...
...and foursquare
and just having some rowdy fun with the kids
