Our week in Tunica, Mississippi was an incredible one, filled with
opportunities to minister in both word and deed to the people of Tunica
County. This week was also one in which we were spiritually blessed and
challenged to a deeper walk with Christ. These photos will give you an
idea of some of the ministry in which we participated during the week.
On Thursday we led a small vacation Bible School for the neighborhood kids.
Teri accompanies us as we lead the kids in singing some songs.
After sharing a Bible story, we help kids create tangible
reminders of it by way of a craft.
The mosquitos were an ever-present reality in Mississippi, and we
bonded through the nightly ritual of caladryl parties.
Pastor Rodney Hippler challenged us with nightly messages
from the Word of God. The Lord moved all of us through Rodney's
preaching that week, and it was a highlight of the trip for all of us.
At the end of the week we made a visit to the local
laundromat, so that we'd have the chance to wash our dirty work clothes
before we went home.
Here's our group before one of the many fields which
surrounded the town of Tunica.
After a week of sharing God's love in Tunica, we spent 1
day of R & R in Memphis, Tennessee before heading home.
Among other things we enjoyed a riverboat cruise down
the beautiful Mississippi River.
This is one of the fountains that we found along the
trolley route in Memphis.
