Photos - SH Fall Retreat '97

Our senior high youth group went to Krislund camp in Central Pennsylvania this fall for a great retreat weekend of fellowship, learning, prayer, rest, recreation and joy! The time away together really helped us build our relationships both with each other and with Christ. Even though it was pretty cool and rainy, we still managed to enjoy some of the beautiful outdoors and indoors at Krislund. Had to keep a good fire going in the fireplace though.

SH Fall Retreat at Krislund - group shot (28k)
Here's the group standing happily in the rain for the final group photo as we're leaving. They don't look too much the worse for wear.
Group building initiatives (18k)
We spent part of saturday in the main lodge doing some "Initiatives Course" activities under the direction of the camp director and his son. Here are Chris Ritchie and his wife Kathy enjoying it all.
more group building (18k)
Here we find out if we can stand up together in pairs.

It's harder than it looks.

circle trust fall - 6 (19k)
This is a variant on a trust fall where the person in the center has to stay stiff and fall. The people in the ring catch him/her and pass or toss them around the ring without (hopefully) dropping them.
super chris! (18k)
This was our unofficial game later of indoor high jumping. Chris is obviously enjoying it. Not too inhibited about flying.
Andrews amazing hang time (13k)
So was Andrew...

You can come down now Andrew.

our beloved cooks (20k)
Here are our cooks, without whom we would have spent the weekend eating cold cereal and potato chips. They made sure we were very well fed.

P.S. try the ham there, it's delicious

P.P.S. They did get to use the stove to cook. They didn't have to use the fireplace.

group goof off (22k)
An unscheduled pileup for a group photo.

(you don't think we schedule these things do you ?)

whole group hamfest (19k)
Another unscheduled group photo.

The ham that got cooked wasn't the only ham in this group.

cross and organ (10k)
Devotions, singing and studying together were also vital parts of the weekend.

Our theme for the weekend was "Body Building", based on Colossians 3:12-17. We looked at the qualities that should be characteristic of a youth group that has been redeemed by the love of Jesus Christ.
