A motley crew, don't you think? Here we are anxiously awaiting our chance to scale the climbing wall at Krislind |
Chris leads the group in song as Tim smiles in time to the music. |
An unruly mob awaits the next exciting event, hoping that it involves food! |
Andrew suddenly has a bad feeling about that popcorn he ate. He may be seeing it again soon. |
brave Bria tests the trust level of the group as she falls into our arms. |
An attempt at group effort as we try to get across the log and avoid the sea of hot peanut butter (imagined, of course!) |
Kathy and Amy attempt to slide through the spider web without getting tangled. |
Amy and Matt negotiate where to place the board so that they can help their team members. |
As Michael and Matt strain to accomplish the challenge course, Chris comments to Kathy about how much time it's taking! |
Our fearless (and humble) leaders, Chris, Tim and Liz were a constant source of inspiration. |
Michael and Sam wait for their turn to conquer the climbing wall |
The dreaded climbing wall awaits its unknowing victims... Oh look, the first one... |
The crowd reacts with dismay as they learn about the wall. |
Climbing the wall isn't as easy as it looks, but it's totally safe. Each person has a balleyer on the ground so that our teens don't fall and break their necks. |
Amy gets started on her long trip up the wall. |
Michael begins to realize that a good foothold is sometimes hard to find! |
Andrew did a great job scaling even the most difficult parts of the wall. |
The girls search for the most adventurous way to cross the creek. |
The cross-creek ropes course -- some make it... |
... and some don't |
Tim takes adventure to new heights as he crosses the rope bridge. |
Do you think Chris knows that Kathy is back there shaking the rope? |
How many people can we get on the bridge before it sinks into the creek? |
Sam gives a great big smile as he realizes that his youth leaders will not throw him into the creek! |
Devotions, singing and studying together were also vital parts of the weekend. Our theme for the weekend was "Nothing to Hide.", and we focused on the fact that, because God loves us with such an incredible love, we don't need to fear what we look like or what people think of us. We only need to be obedient to what God wants us to do, even if that means stepping out of our comfort zone. |
