CPC Email Prayer Chain

Prayer Central is a large church that is continuing to grow. Praying for one another helps form us into a community and allows us to love and encourage one another in a powerful and meaningful way.

This is an email list of prayer requests, praise and progress reports for the people of Central Presbyterian, their friends and families, distributed via email. Our goal is to get prayer needs out to a large number of believers, (especially in urgent situations), but also enable us to share updates, praise and progress reports in a timely fashion.

Anyone can submit prayer requests. You don't have to be a list member.

If you are a member or attender at Central and would like to join the list as a pray-er, please read the following policies and procedures for the mailing list. They are set up in order to protect privacy, minimize spam and let the list run smoothly for all participants. If you agree to follow them, then use the Subscription form below.

Sandy Strawhand is the current list administrator. Contact her with any questions at prayer-request@centralpc.org.

FAQs

How often will I get emails through this list?
Prayer requests will be sent out as they come in, but not more than once in a day. On average, you might receive 2 or 3 emails per week.
Can SPAM go out through this list?
No. We have carefully set up the list so that only the mailing list administrator may send emails through the list, approve people joining the list or see the list of subscribers. Email replies to the list will go only to the administrator and not to the whole list.
Who will be receiving these emails? How is that controlled?
Subscribers are limited to the Central community. Requests to join the list (subscriptions) must be approved by the list administrator before that person will receive any list emails.
Can I just forward one of these emails to someone I know?
Our policies that you agree to on joining this list are that:
  • Requests on the list are confidential and should not be shared outside of Central.
  • The prayer chain emails may not be forwarded in all or in part.
We ask that you strictly follow those and do not forward the emails to others outside the list, tempting as it may be. Personal information is sometimes shared through this list so only those who have agreed to follow its policies on careful handling of that information and who have been approved by the list administrator should receive the emails.
What's that "X-No-Archive:no" line in the emails?
Google Groups operates as an email list, but also has a website interface. That interface can save an archive of posts to the list. We do not want to keep an archive, so that line tells their system not to keep the emails more than a few days. Only list members can read the archive anyway.
