This is deep in our church vision; however, we may not feel very equipped for this kind of lifestyle. This sermon series is intended to motivate us to embrace this calling of being a good neighbor, and provide some incentive of how to get more help.

Trusting God in Transition Central Presbyterian Church is changing. With the opening of our new worship center we enter a new era of life together. While core values remain the same our functioning on a Sunday Morning will shift remarkably. This is bound to raise our anxieties as well as our excitement. It is therefore a good idea to focus on the importance of trusting God together as we "set out on this journey". This series from Luke 7 and 8 will help us look to God in faith as we enter unfamiliar territory.

Who Are You...? Discipleship is the process and product of a close relationship with Christ. The process involves understanding the 5 G's and spiritual praxis. The product is what happens inside of us, the very life of Jesus, resulting for the most part, in harmony with God and others. Discipleship can even produce dissonance due to a resolve to follow Jesus in this world. This series will take more of an inside look at what is being produced in us. It will encourage evaluation of our becoming and being as well as our learning and doing, and will deal with our character as well as our conduct.

People no longer have one career in life, but 4, each one demanding different skills and a different knowledge base. We move constantly, and make new friends over and over. Consecrate Yourselves God has given the church a mission. However, it is not a matter of hearing what God wants, and then just doing it. God is on a mission, and he draws us into it. To go on this mission with God first demands an change in ourselves, because God's mission is changing people, from the inside out. We cannot call people to what we have not experienced. The Bible calls this inward journey of change "holiness", to be set apart, consecrated to a new relationship, a new purpose, a new identity. See also NV:Consecrate Yourselves.

A Mixed Up Christmas Let's face it; God hasn't been predictable in our own lives, has he? The Christmas story is the same way. God chooses a country we wouldn't otherwise even notice. He chose to work in Israel, not when it was at the height of its power, but when it was occupied, beaten down for hundreds of years. God chooses people who are too old, or too young.
