ReOpening

Dear Central Families,

The past year has been challenging, especially for kids. We are so excited to welcome your babies and preschoolers back to Central! We have been working hard to provide safe spaces for them to gather, play, and grow in their faith!

Here is important information about reopening our classrooms.

Programming & Room Locations*
Classes for babies through preschoolers entering kindergarten – 9:30 am

Room 1: Infants and Beginning Walkers
Room 4: Steady Walkers and 2-year olds
Room 9: 3-year olds – entering Kindergarten
* Rooms may change based on number of registrations received.

Classes for elementary-age kids will resume on Sunday, October 3rd. Elementary kids will continue to worship with their families. Worship activity bags are available.

Registration
In order to adequately staff our classrooms and keep our rooms at safe capacities, you are required to register your child in advance each week. Registration links will be on the Central Kids’ Reopening post on the website.

Check-In
Check-in opens at 9:15 am. Once you check your child in, please escort them to their classroom. Be sure to keep your cell phone on silent, as we will text you if your child needs you. Also be sure to hang on to your parent claim sticker – you will need this to pick your child up.

Masks
At this time, we are requiring masks for children ages 2 and up, parents/caregivers entering our Central Kids area, volunteers and Central Kids staff. If your child has a medical reason why they cannot wear a mask, please contact Kathie Phillips (kathie@centralpc.org)

Room Cleaning and Sanitizing
While the heart of our ministry remains the same, we aim to provide the safest spaces possible. This includes:

  • Increased sanitation (children will be asked to sanitize their hands upon entering the classroom as well as several times throughout the morning, toy and surface sanitation using a kid-friendly disinfectant)
  • Suspending serving snacks
  • Modified games and activities
  • Modified class sizes

We understand that your family might not be ready to return to church at this time. We will continue to provide online content for both preschoolers and elementary kids at SUNDAYS @ HOME.

One more thing – you might have noticed that ‘Central Kids’ has been mentioned a few times in this correspondence. That’s not a typo! We are excited to announce that Children’s Ministry at Central is now Central Kids!

We’d LOVE to have you come and serve with us! We have opportunities inside and outside of the classroom that you can find a place to serve! CENTRAL KIDS VOLUNTEER FORM.

Again, we are excited to see you very soon!! Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Cheering for you always,

Kathie Phillips
Director of Family Ministry

Give

Because of God’s radical generosity to us through Christ, we are liberated to give sacrificially, generously, and joyfully. So if you believe in the ministry that God is doing through Central, we invite you to partner with us through giving.

Central is switching to a new giving system (Pushpay) with some exciting benefits. It will look different and you will need to set up a new account and re-enter your giving information.  If you get stuck the finance team is here to support you. Contact give@centralpc.org

Envelope & Stock Gifts

If you would like to arrange for giving envelopes or learn about how to setup stock gifts, please contact our giving team at give@centralpc.org.

Central Kids Sundays

WELCOME TO CENTRAL KIDS!

Central Kids exists to provide warm environments for kids to fall in love with Jesus. Our weekend programming gives children the opportunity to have lots of fun as they play, learn, create, and worship the God who loves them.

In Person | 9:30 am

Sprouts | Infants through 2-Year Olds

It’s here that children get their first impression of the God who made them and loves them. Each week, we offer a creative, hands-on Bible story, fun story activities, and lots of free play with friends and leaders.

Backyard | 3-Year Olds – entering Kindergarten

Our preschoolers will discover the wonder of God’s love each week through sensory activities, a creatively-told and engaging Bible story, crafts, games, and music that center a fun monthly theme.  Everything we teach our preschoolers is based on one of three simple, but powerful, truths:

God Made Me | God Loves Me | Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever

Treehouse:  1st through 3rd Grade

Early elementary-aged children are invited to build friendships with peers and leaders while growing in their relationship with Jesus. Each week, they will experience games, creative storytelling, interactive smaller group discussions, and time in God’s Word. One main point, or bottom line, is reinforced each week so that they can apply it to their everyday lives.  Each week’s lesson is based on one of the three basic, but powerful, truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52:

I need to make the wise choice | I can trust God no matter what | I should treat others the way I want to be treated

Route 45 | 4th & 5th Grade

Designed especially for preteens navigating increasing independence, Route 45 provides our preteens with opportunities to grow in their faith while building relationships with peers and leaders. Just like our elementary-aged kids, our preteens will experience games, creative storytelling, interactive smaller group discussions, and time in God’s Word…just with a preteen twist!

CHECK IN

SICK POLICY

We are doing our best to keep our families, children and volunteers safe and healthy.  We are continuing to practice COVID protocol with masks and physical distancing as best we can.

Since it is flu and cold season, along with COVID, I wanted to share our sick policy.

Please have your child rest at home if he/she has:

  • a fever
  • vomiting or diarrhea
  • thick nasal discharge
  • runny nose
  • eye discharge
  • a cough
  • an unidentified rash
Also because of COVID, please have your child rest at home if he/she:
  • has been exposed to someone with COVID
  • is waiting for a COVID test result
  • has COVID symptoms

Thank you for partnering with Central Kids.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS

While the heart of our ministry remains the same, we aim to provide the safest spaces possible. This includes:

  • Increased sanitation (children will be asked to sanitize their hands upon entering the classroom as well as several times throughout the morning, toy and surface sanitation using a kid-friendly disinfectant)
  • Suspending serving snacks
  • Modified games and activities
  • Modified class sizes

MASKS

After careful consideration, we will now move to a mask-optional policy for kids, students, and leaders downstairs on Sunday mornings.

Discover Central

Discover Central is a three-part interactive class with lots of space for discussion. We will bring clarity to what it looks like to follow Jesus at Central Church. Wherever you are in your faith walk, this class will help you define your next step in faith and membership.
