This 8-week class will teach about the spiritual gifts of the Bible, equip you to identify your own, and guide you in discerning opportunities to use them here at Central and in the communities where God has placed you.
Discipleship is a lifelong journey of growing more like Jesus, with and for others… happens best in environments where LIFE, SPIRIT, and WORD meet.
This occurs through many means & modalities and involves our heads, hearts, and hands. It is not about learning information but about life-changing transformation.
Follow each sermon series by reading and studying the text each week.

Laura Scott is thrilled to be joining the Central staff and to be able to tap into her passion for shepherding the body of Christ. Laura earned her masters degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University Maryland and a certificate in Biblical Counseling from the Christian Counseling & Education Foundation (CCEF). She spent the last decade working as a mental health and pastoral counselor in substance abuse treatment, private practice, and nonprofit settings, including at Helping Up Mission. She has also served in various volunteer roles at her church, including as the founder and former lead of the Connections Team and as a member and chair of the women’s leadership team. Since working as a pastoral assistant years ago, Laura has dreamt of eventually returning to a church staff role and was very drawn to this opportunity to gather and equip members of the congregation at Central. Laura and her husband Andy were formerly members at Central before transitioning to a church closer to their home at the time, so this is a familiar and beloved community to them, and they are very excited to be returning. They and their kids, Avery and Ben (also very familiar with Central through the Preschool and Bible Camp!) now live in Towson.
