Dear Central,

We have been encouraged by your generosity and the support that you have shown despite these unsettling times. I am thankful to God for the faithfulness of each of you and for a prudent financial team.

Despite the six weeks of remote worship via livestream, your giving has remained relatively consistent, and we are running just a little lower than normal giving. Those who normally would give in the offering baskets have begun giving online or have consistently sent checks into the church office. Thank you!

Some of you may be experiencing financial challenges during this difficult time. We are here for you, and we want to help. Asking for help is hard, but being part of a community means sharing and blessing each other. Also, there are many who are willing to help with tangible needs like delivering groceries or making a meal. The deacons are available for support through prayer and with funds. Please visit and reach out for support.

A large portion of our budget supports Central’s church staff members who create and produce Sunday worship, support families and students, manage small groups and missions work, and provide support, care, and resources to our congregation. We are committed to paying our staff as well as the preschool staff while continuing to assist our mission partners who would be severely impacted without critical support at this time.

With the Session’s approval, Central has applied for the federal Paycheck Protection Program to cover eight weeks of payroll expenses for the church staff and the preschool staff and teachers. This avoids staffing disruptions and allows for stability for our many ministries.

James 1:2-4 (MSG)  – Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

Thank you so much for your generosity and faithfulness to God’s work through Central. Your faith-life has been forced into the open and you have shown your true colors.

With a grateful heart,

Pastor John
