Dear Central Families,
We know the past few weeks have been very unsettling and upsetting. Many of us are living into new rhythms and routines as we are socially distancing ourselves during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are a myriad of emotions as we navigate this unprecedented time.
As your Family Ministry team, we want to assure you that we miss seeing you and your families. We are praying for you as you make important decisions, make scheduling adjustments and adjust to new norms. We are praying for extra measures of grace, patience and wisdom as we approach the days ahead.
One thing’s for sure: we can rest in peace knowing that none of this is taking God by surprise. He is near and in control!
We also know that you are leading your family through many conversations and emotions around this pandemic. Our Family Ministry team recommends The Parent Cue by Orange and The Fuller Youth Institute as resources for finding faith-filled responses to anxiety in children.
Here are links to those resources. On The Parent Cue link you will find a number of age-appropriate anxiety conversation guides for use by parents. On The Fuller Youth Institute link you will find a series of posts recognizing and dealing with anxiety in teens. These are the resources we would turn to and would like to share with you.
Again, please know that we are praying for you and with you. If we can assist in any way, please reach out to us.
Kathie, Matt, Joe and Amy
