Friday Nights | 7:00 – 9:30 PM
This Friday at Whirlwind, we will be talking about the impact of popular media on our faith and worldview. We will be challenging each other to be more mindful of our media choices and less like mindless consumers.
Over the next few weeks, we will be applying a 3(D) Discernment Process (Discover, Discern, Decide). Click HERE for details on the Discernment Process.

Whirlwind is a great environment for Middle School students to connect with God. Below are some resources for the OTHER 6 days of the week.
Spend some time reflecting on the different people you interacted with today.
Imagine each person’s face in your mind as you ask God, “What should I pray for them?”
Take a moment to pray for each person.
Take a day to disconnect and fast from media and technology.
Turn off the movies, TV, and computer. Put away the phone and tablet.
Spend the day connecting with God and others.
Choose one of the verses below and commit it to memory this week.
Choose a song, TV episode, movie, or video game and practice the media discernment method found above.
Email your review to firstname.lastname@example.org for a Snack Shack Dollar.
Choose one of the passages below and read it through slowly two times.
Ask God what He wants you to take away from these verses.
Read it one more time and write down the thoughts that come to you.
At the end of the day, ask yourself these questions…
At what moments this week did I notice God more?
At what moments this week did God seem distant?
