Fridays at Whirlwind Online

One of the biggest challenges a middle schooler faces on a daily basis is managing their moods. They’re feeling a lot of feelings, many of which they may be experiencing for the first time. Because of that, they struggle to name, express, or acknowledge their feelings in this phase. That’s why we’re doing a four-week series called Moods designed to help students develop an awareness of their feelings and the emotional vocabulary to express their moods in a healthy way.

Week 1 – February 5

Emotions don’t have to be the boss of you.

Mark 7:20-23, Matthew 11:28

Week 2 – February 12

Anger doesn’t have to be the boss of you.

James 3:13-18, James 4:1-2

Week 3 – February 19

Fear doesn’t have to be the boss of you.

Matthew 8:23-27,1 Peter 5:7

Week 4 – February 26

Guilt doesn’t have to be the boss of you.

Romans 8:1-2

There is a daily devotional reading plan that follows our curriculum on the YouVersion Bible App.  In the app, select plans and search for “MOODS”.  Look for the one with the MOODS graphic.

The Bible App and MOODS Reading Plan is available on phone, tablet, and computer.

In the app, students can search for and “friend” Matt Acton and other Whirlwind Leaders and read the plan together and mutually encourage one another.
