Friday Nights | 7:00 – 9:30 PM
This Friday at Whirlwind, we will be talking about the larger story being told throughout the Bible. How did what happened in the Garden of Eden impact what happened with Jesus on the cross?
As we explore these stories, we will be challenging each other to discover where we fit in with the story God is telling, both in the Bible and in our lives today.
Whirlwind is a great environment for Middle School students to connect with God. Below are some resources for the OTHER 6 days of the week.
Choose one of the verses below and commit it to memory.
Find a quiet place and spend 5 minutes alone in silence.
Pray “God, help me to understand how much you care about me” repeatedly.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” -1 Thessalonians 5:11
Find a prayer partner for the week. Share prayer requests with each other and pray together when possible.
What’s your story?
Draw a line on a piece of paper representing your life so far. Above the line, mark down three moments in your life when you felt closest to God. Below the line, mark down three moments in your life when you felt far from God. This represents your relationship with God so far, the highs and the lows. God is present in both.
What are the stories behind those moments in your life?
Could sharing those stories encourage others in their relationship with God? Who do you need to share those stories with?
Choose one of the passages below and read it through slowly 3 times. Ask God what He wants you to take away from the passage.
At the end of the day, ask yourself these questions…
- When did you feel closest to God?
- When did you feel far from God?
