When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, he responded with “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
This commandment, from the Book of Deuteronomy, was known to the Jewish people as the Shema… a prayer that would have memorized and prayer when they woke up in the morning, when they left the house, and when they went to bed.
Jesus paired this verse with another from the Book of Leviticus… “Love your neighbor as yourself.” With these two verses together, Jesus creates a new Shema for the people… sometimes called The Jesus Creed.
This year at Whirlwind, we are going to start by exploring what it means to live by this Jesus Creed. How do we love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind? How do we love others?
This will be our focus for both our in-person Whirlwind Gatherings and Whirlwind Online. (Click the images below for details on each.)
