Helping Up Mission helps men and women fighting addiction and/or experiencing homelessness find hope and healing. Their comprehensive recovery programs address root issues of substance abuse and poverty. As one person is healed, Greater Baltimore is raised up.
The Helping Up Mission Choir will be joining us during both worship services on February 12. Between services, immediately following the 9:30 am service, there will be light refreshments in the concourse and Covenant room. Stop by to chat with the HUM choir members and staff. Everyone is welcome to attend!
Central will collect items during the worship services to support the men and women of Helping Up Mission. Having their physical needs met allows them to focus on their healing journey to wholeness.
There will be a moment during the worship services for members of our community to bring up donations and place them in the large bins. Donations can also be dropped off at the church Mon.-Thurs. from 9am – 4pm. Let’s fill those bins and share the love of Christ with our neighbors!
By partnering with Helping Up Mission, we are coming alongside the men and women who have taken a courageous step toward healing. We’re humbled to be able to partner with our neighbors in this way and meet both spiritual and physical needs.
The new Women and Children’s Center opened in January 2022. The inaugural group of about 40 women is now enrolled in the long-term recovery program at the center, and as of this month, women with children have joined them. Ultimately, up to 200 women and children will call HUM their “home” in the new building.
