We understand how distressing data breaches can be, especially when personal and financial information is potentially involved.

Assurance of Security:

We want to assure you that we take security very seriously. We thoroughly review our CCB access and investigate signs of suspicious activity.

Regarding financial data, you can rest assured that it is safe. Both CCB and Pushpay use a token-based system that is encrypted and hosted on third-party servers, providing a high level of security.

Continued Vigilance and Resources:

We are committed to protecting our congregation’s information and will continue to monitor and address any potential issues. In the meantime, here are two articles that Pushpay (our online giving service) shared with us that we believe would be helpful for you:

How To Report Phishing

If you got a phishing email or text message, report it. The information you give helps fight scammers.

For more information on spotting scams, read this guide from the Attorney General of Maryland.

It has come to our attention that some members of our congregation have received scam “phishing” messages that appear to be from church leadership asking for donations of gift cards or asking for personal information. We have reported these to our IT team and are always working on maintaining internet security.

Please note, no member of church leadership will request money, gift cards, or personal financial/identifying information directly from you via email or text message.
