Our church family gathered for the second annual Friendsgiving—a day that embodied the warmth and unity of our community. We came together in the sanctuary for a combined worship service before a fabulous Thanksgiving meal. This year’s event was especially meaningful, as we also bid a fond send-off to Matt Acton, Director of Student Ministry, who is embarking on a well-deserved sabbatical.
Behind the scenes, an incredible team of 70 volunteers, led by Linda and Rick Ferree, worked tirelessly to transform our concourse and worship center. Tables were set and beautifully decorated, every detail thoughtfully arranged to welcome the 360 attendees. From setting up and serving to cleaning up after the festivities, these volunteers made the day seamless and special.
The meal itself was a feast for the senses—delicious food, homemade pies, and the kind of conversation that only happens when friends and family gather around the table. The fun contest sparked friendly competition and laughter echoed throughout the rooms, reminding us all of the simple joys that come from being together.
Friendsgiving was more than just an event; it was a celebration of gratitude, service, and the bonds that make our church a true home. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and love to this joyful gathering.
