Kitchen Service in Men’s Center
Prepare meals, serve guests, and assist with cleanup for the men in our recovery and housing programs.
Baby/Toddler Caretaker in Women’s Center
Provide loving, attentive care for clients’ precious babies while their mothers attend classes and participate in activities that support their recovery and personal growth.
Kitchen volunteering is age 14+ with an adult present at the Men's Center only. All other volunteering is 18+.

Sports Clinic Coach
Coach Gymnastics, Boxing, Soccer, Flag Football, or Lacrosse, one weeknight for two hours, five weeks during the school year.
Drivers
Use organizational vans to pick up kids from local schools, 3-4 p.m., Mon-Fri.
Family Nights Host
Help prepare food, set up, run games, and clean up at one of our Family Night events on a weeknight.

The ACTC Packing Team meets every other Sunday from 1-3 p.m. to fill grocery bags and transport them to the Assistance Center for distribution. There are several roles within this team, including packers who pack the groceries, loaders who move the packed bags onto a truck, and the transport team, who deliver the bags to their destination, driving their own trucks. There are three additional volunteers at the Center to receive and stock the bags as they arrive. Several team leaders are always on hand to provide direction and answer any questions you might have. We all experience conflict. It’s a part of being human. Most of us avoid conflict, and for good reason! It causes a lot of pain. But if it’s a natural part of living, what if we learned to embrace conflict and learn from it rather than running from it?
Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) is a multi-cultural international grassroots volunteer organization dedicated to reducing interpersonal violence. AVP Maryland is an officially affiliated chapter of AVP-USA.
For the last 50 years AVP has been doing exactly that - showing people how to transform conflict for mutual healing and support. How? Through experiential workshops where individuals engage in activities that build communication, affirmation, community, cooperation, trust and respect for all.
